Process Description
Water enters a mix tank where it can be neutralized by either an HCl (acid) solution or an NaOH (base or caustic) solution depending on its pH. The neutralized solution leaves the bottom of the tank by gravity.
Instrumentation
Water flow to the tank is controlled by flow controller FIC-101. Acid flow to the tank is controlled by flow controller FIC-201. Caustic flow to the tank is controlled by flow controller FIC-301. Tank level is controlled by level controller LIC-401. The outlet flow is indicated by FI-401.
Water pH is indicated by pHI-101. Acid pH is indicated by pHI-201. Caustic pH is indicated by pHI-301. Solution pH is indicated by pHC-401.
